Sinusitis And Nose Issues – Nose Structure Can Play A Role In Sinus Problems Occurring

Many individuals suffer from chronic sinusitis and nose problems due to something referred to as a deviated septum.

A deviated septum is an abnormality in the positioning of the nasal septum which normally runs straight down the middle of the nose.

There are different levels of severity when it comes to this deviation (bend) of the septum. It can range anywhere from minor which normally causes no problems and is commonly not even known to exist by the person with it.

Then it ranges all the way to the other extreme where is responsible for causing all sorts of problems such as:

loud breathing during the day and at night when sleeping

causes potential facial pain

common nose bleeding

blockage of the drainage between the sinuses and the nasal passage

The deviation usually blocks one side way more than the other making for a difficulty in normal breathing. This can in some cases also cause inflammation and ultimately blockage. This is what is mainly responsible for adding to the chances of recurring sinusitis infections in the individual.

If the deviated septum is deemed to be severe enough and found to be causing ongoing sinus problems, your doctor may elect to perform a surgical procedure in order to remedy the deviation.

A deviated septum can be with a person from birth or it can be due to an injury to the nose that had been sustained at some point in the person’s life.

In some cases a person can live with this condition all their life and never notice it or suffer from problems relating to the septum.

If you are suffering from chronic sinusitis, you may want to have this looked at by your doctor as soon as can be arranged.
